Our October monthly meeting will be changing locations. Meeting location will be revealed once you have been verified. Our main speaker will be Steph de Garay (mother of Maddie de Garay). Meeting will be held on 10/24 from 6:30 - 7:30.\r\nAbout Stephanie:\r\nStephanie de Garay is a mother, wife and Elementary Educational Assistant from Cincinnati, Ohio. Her daughter, Maddie, and two sons participated in the Pfizer Covid vaccine trial at Cincinnati Children's Hospital with several friends in December and January of 2021. After Maddie received her second dose of the vaccine, she experienced severe side effects that resulted in multiple hospitalizations. After being misdiagnosed by Cincinnati Children's, her parents sought out second opinions and in July 2022, Maddie was diagnosed with Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP), POTS and Small Fiber Neuropathy. Today, Maddie is in a wheelchair, relies on a gastrostomy tube (g-tube) for nutrition and has a central venous catheter for medical treatments. Prior to January 2021, Maddie was a happy, active and healthy 12 year old.
