The School District of the Chathams agreed to drop its gender expression policy at a Board of Education meeting on Oct. 12 after settling with the conservative group Moms for Liberty.
Moms for Liberty filed a federal lawsuit in August against the district, saying its policy allowed a child to transition socially without informing parents and violated parental rights and a decision from the U.S. Supreme Court earlier in 2026.
