Large crowd turns out for Bay County's Charlie Kirk tribute

Crowds turned out at Carl Gray Park on Sept. 15 for a tribute to the late Charlie Kirk.

The event kicked off at 6 p.m. and was hosted by the Bay County Republican Party of Florida. Local leaders and pastors spoke, condemning the shooting and pleading for unity.

A pickup truck with the tailgate open served as the stage, and a large printed photo of Charlie Kirk was displayed. Tho Bishop, chairman of the local Republicans, stepped up to speak first. He told the audience that he was wearing borrowed clothes, as his home had recently been burned down. Bishop said the outpouring of support from the community for his family in the aftermath exemplifies American values.
