Moms for Liberty Applauds SCOTUS Ruling in Mahmoud v. Taylor Upholding Parental Rights

Washington, D.C. - Moms for Liberty applauded the Supreme Court’s ruling in Mahmoud v. Taylor today, which upheld parental rights in a religious liberty case out of Montgomery County, Maryland, and reaffirmed parental authority over woke government indoctrination.

A lawsuit was filed in 2023 by parents who were denied the choice to opt their children out of being exposed to radical LGBTQ curriculum in grade levels as young as pre-kindergarten in Montgomery County, Maryland. Through the course material, young children would be forced to learn about sex changes, pride parades, pronoun usage, and other sexually charged subject matter from far-left authors. The Supreme Court on Friday ruled that not allowing parents to opt their children out of the curriculum violated their rights.

“The Supreme Court just sided with parents over the authoritarian schools in Maryland that sought to FORCE elementary school children into explicit, sexual education against the will of their parents. I’m so proud of Moms for Liberty’s own Rosalind Hanson who was a petitioner in Mahmoud v. Taylor and fought tirelessly for the right to raise our children as we parents see fit. We do not co-parent with the Government - and we are winning!” said Tina Descovich, CEO and Co-Founder of Moms for Liberty.

Moms for Liberty is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization. Moms for Liberty is dedicated to fighting for the survival of America by unifying, educating and empowering parents to defend their parental rights at all levels of government.
