CONSTITUTION WEEK/CELEBRATE FREEDOM WEEK
It's almost here, but we are aready hard at work! Each year Moms for Liberty partners with the 917 Society, a non-profit organization that provides Pocket Constitutions every year to 8th graders across the country. Our chapter members have delivered 12,000 pocket constitutions to 35 middle schools in the last 2 weeks. THANK YOU!!!!! In Texas, and across the nation, it is a requirement that schools teach about the US Constitution during the week of September 17th (Constitution Day). Learn more on our flyer below, ask your child's teacher and principal in advance what activities they are planning for Constitution Day this year, and offer to help in the classroom. (Make sure you have signed up with your child's school to be a Volunteer. It requires a background check and can take several days for approval.)
You can download and print the flyer HERE.
SCHOOL OPT OUT FORMS
The Parental Bill of Rights (SB 12) went into effect on September 1st!🎉 This 37 page bill (read it here) is HUGE for the Parental Rights momement, but it is mandating schools to create new forms to comply with the law. It requires school districts to obtain consent from the parent for any medical and mental health care. This is FANTASTIC, but many districts are offereng an ALL OR NOTHING APPROACH. This is not acceptable.
You have ALWAYS had the fundamental right to direct the medical care, moral training and education of your child. If your district does not give you the option to OPT IN to some and OPT OUT of some of their services, that is NOT OK.
Remedies:
1. Print your school's CONSENT FORM, circle the services you consent to, and cross out services you DO NOT consent to. Sign the form and email it to the school nurse, your child's teacher and the principal. Request that the form be placed in the student's PERMANENT FOLDER. You can also use a more detailed OPT OUT FORM that we provide on our M4L Wilc Chapter webpage. View the OPT OUT FORM HERE.
2. If your school will NOT accept your modified CONSENT FORM, file a FORMAL COMPLAINT with your district office. Please let us know if you have done so and we can follow up and support your efforts.

We hope to see you at Tuesday's Chapter Meeting at La Margarita in Round Rock. We will discuss all these topics in detail. Our mission is to UNIFY, EDUCATE and EMPOWER PARENTS to defend their parental rights at all levels of government. One of the best ways we can do that is by interacting face-to-face with you and answering your questions at our meetings. Don't miss it!
