Everyone, first, it was nice to see so many of you at the vigil for Charlie Kirk last night at the Talbot County Courthouse. Special thanks to State Senator Johnny Mautz, State Delegate Tom Hutchinson, Sheriff Joe Gamble, and Talbot County Councilman Dave Stepp for their tributes and prayers. It was also great to see Talbot County Council President Chuck Callahan and school board member Deborah Bridges Also special thanks to the organizers of the event. It was quite beautiful.
I wrote this to the Maryland Legislative Committee on Sunday:
All of us, particularly as the Maryland Moms for Liberty Legislative Committee, need to forge ahead. I compare it to how Charlie would go into unfriendly college campuses and challenge those students, teachers, etc. who had outrageous liberal, even evil, values and outright hatred for him and his supporters, and would talk with them. He would fight their ideas with his ideas. He would fight their anger with his good humor and strong faith. He created a movement so strong, so vital that it is credited with putting Trump over the top in the 2024 election.
I'm sure at times he felt overwhelmed and hopeless like we do. But, he kept going and although it cost him dearly, he impacted this country so deeply. His sacrifice has opened the eyes of many to the hatred of those on the other side, so much so that the left is losing people by the droves. It seems like part of a divine plan.
I'd like us to be part of the plan in Maryland and work bit by bit, law by law, to get this state turned around even if it takes years. It should begin with us NOW and HERE.
I feel the same about our Moms for Liberty Chapter. Many asked me about meetings this month. The good news is that we have one WEDNESDAY, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Easton Volunteer Fire Department. It will be a chance to share information and to talk about what is going on in schools in the country, state, and Talbot County. I've ordered pizza and other good stuff from Roberto's Pizza in Easton and hope you will come! If you have another event earlier that day, come to our meeting later.
We will also have a joint meeting with the Wicomico County Moms for Liberty Chapter on Wednesday, Sept. 24. Here is the info about that meeting:
Finally, with the horrible assassination of Charlie Kirk, we have had some inquiries about starting local chapters of TURNING POINT USA. Tonight I will be joining a ZOOM call with TPUSA and other Moms for Liberty Chapter Chairs from across the country to get information on how best to help these chapters get started in Talbot ( or anywhere). I will also share that information with you on the 17th.
I know that there are students in this county who want to do this.
Finally, a few quotes to inspire YOU and YOUR FAMILIES!
See you Wednesday!
