First things first... DON'T MISS our September 15th Chapter Meeting THIS TUESDAY at LaMargarita in Round Rock (6:30pm)! We will welcome all candidates/elected officials who would like to address our Members for 2 minutes, and we will vote on school board candidate endorsements. Be sure to meet the school board candidates running for Leander ISD and Round Rock ISD so you can learn about their priorities. Their election is this November. (All other districts have elections in May.)
Our guest speaker is Miriam Evans of Behind the Shelves, an initiative of Protecting Texas Children. Miriam will share strategies on how YOU can identify and REMOVE inappropriate content from your child's school library. CONSTITUTION DAY (SEPT. 17TH)/CELEBRATE FREEDOM WEEK
This week is CELEBRATE FREEDOM WEEK, enveloping Constitution Day, Thursday, September 17th. Texas students *SHOULD* be learning about the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, and the Bill of Rights this week.
Check in with your child's teacher on Monday and ask, "What are you doing for CELEBRATE FREEDOM WEEK?" If nothing is planned, please share the links below to wonderful lesson plans and Texas Education Association (TEA) resources for schools and families to reinforce this important week. Every student should be familiar with our nation's founding documents, and we should regularly reinforce how truly exceptional the United States of America is - One Nation Under God.

917 SOCIETY
For the 4th year, we are partnering with the 917 Society, an amazing organization that provides FREE pocket constitutions to 8th graders all over America! Our Wilco Members sorted over 11,000 constitutions, and we have been delivering them to public, private and charter schools all across Williamson County! Thank you to our many selfless volunteers. MOMS FOR LIBERTY REPRESENTS IN DALLAS, TX
Several of our chapter Members spent the last few days in Dallas, TX at the RNC Convention. We hosted a Moms for Liberty luncheon with special guests, U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon and former U.S. Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich. Several of our Members sat right behind President Trump on the stage during his speech, which was SUPER exciting!!!
OPEN HOUSE/MEET THE TEACHER
As you visit your child's school for Open House, be sure to:
- Communicate that you want to be active in your child's education and support the teacher however you can
- Ask to preview the classroom library. This is the collection of books a teacher may have on the shelf for students to read during classtime. If you see any books that are questionable, be sure to let the teacher know your concerns and put into writing your desire to OPT OUT your child from reacing that book/subject matter. YOU have the God-given right to direct the education of your child.
- Observe the classroom to see if there is a TEN COMMANDMENTS poster displayed. If not, consider donating Ten Commandments posters to your child's school at RestoreAmericanSchools.com
- Be on the look out for a framed IN GOD WE TRUST poster in every building in your child's school. Don't have one, order one at USNationalMotto.com

October 8-11, 2026 - We have a fabulous opportunity to attend the Moms for Liberty Joyful Warrior National Summit in our home state this year!
