    The M4LU Coordinator will assist the Program Director, M4LU with the planning, organizing, and execution of M4LU events and supporting monthly resources. This role involves researching and curating content, identifying and liaising with guest speakers, ensuring event logistics are well coordinated and backstage management run smoothly.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Content Research and Curation: 
      • Toolkit - Help build out the monthly topic toolkit by researching related articles, books, whitepapers, videos from trusted sources, events in the news, FOIA findings, and resources from partner organizations.
      • Book Club - Assist with book selection for book club by reading and researching book options. Develop brief book summaries and outlines for members to provide an overview of the selected books. Create questions to ask the author during live sessions to facilitate engaging discussions, ensuring meaningful interactions and discussions.
    • Guest Speaker Coordination: 
      • Help identify and make initial contact with potential guest speakers for each event, gather their interest, and potentially hold initial interviews to determine their viability.
      • Conduct thorough research to identify potential guest speakers who align with M4LU’s mission and the event's theme and objectives.
      • Reach out to potential guest speakers via email, phone, or social media to gauge their interest and availability in participating in the event.
    • Event Planning and Management:
      • Build a rough cut version of the run of show for each event, identifying needed items, such as graphics, bios, script details, logistics, event pages, and links.
      • Run the “backstage” for the Monthly Book Club (virtual). Coordinate practice run-throughs, guest invitations, Q&A, monitor audience chats.
    • Review and Feedback: 
      • Review the first draft of the monthly smartbook and quiz to ensure accuracy and relevance.
      • Check website for accuracy, needed updates, working links, etc.

  • Skills:

    Qualifications:
    • Strong research and analytical skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Experience in event planning and coordination.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in working with guest speakers and managing interviews.
    • Knowledge of current events and how they impact our schools and children.
    • Familiarity with FOIA findings and sourcing resources from partner organizations.

    Work Environment: This role may require occasional travel and the ability to work flexible hours to accommodate event schedules.
