Social Media Specialist

The Social Media Specialist engages with virtual communities and social media network users and is responsible for strategic content development and social media management.
The person in this role will understand how each social media channel functions and how to optimize content for engagement on each platform. This position's duties include the conception, development, and implementation of social media content across multiple social media channels. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in social media marketing and reporting on key performance metrics for social campaigns.Responsibilities:
- Assist in development of the Moms for Liberty social media strategy to increase brand awareness and user engagement
- Generate, edit, publish, and share daily content copy, images, and video encouraging engagement and growth.
- Ensure Moms for Liberty brand voice is consistent across all social media channels.
- Develop and expand community and manage influencer outreach.
- Maintain the annual calendar with editorial content, recognitions, holidays, celebrations, and special events for all Moms for Liberty programs.
- Create and source social content to be used across LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and other social platforms
- Manage social media marketing campaigns and day-to-day activities.
- Communicate with social media followers by responding to comments and messages in a timely fashion
- Work alongside Graphic Designer to ensure content is consistent with the Moms for Liberty brand.
- Stay up to date on best practices and emerging trends in education and parental rights on social media
- Assist with proofreading or editing other content before publishing.
- Perform background research as needed.
- Review content and create reports outlining success rates.
- Other duties as assigned
Skills:
- Graphic design experience
- Video editing experience
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in similar role
- An understanding of the best use practices for social media networks such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc
- Proven ability to communicate with tact, clarity, and accuracy
- Excellent proofreading skills, and ability to translate technical information, and convey it to a lay audience
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines without supervision
