About Us

We serve the school districts of Orange County which include Chapel Hill Carborro City Schools and Orange County Schools. Our members include parents, grandparents and community members of both the public and charter schools within the two school districts of Orange County. 

Our chapter launched September of 2021 as the 11th chapter in North Carolina which now has 13 chapters. We hold our monthly meetings the first Thursday of every month at 6:30 PM and we have a strong presence at the monthly school board meetings.

Our chapter actively advocated for a mask optional policy, personal choice around vaccines, return to in-person learning, age appropriate content in curriculum and libraries and are now advocating for a standard rating system for curriculum of all forms. We are also currently advocating for complete transparancy of curriculum by having all curriculum available for viewing on line. We speak about many of these concerns at board meetings. Our chapter campaigned for school board members in the '22 primaries school board race and contributed to a change in the OCS school board members.
