Deb Fillman is a mother of three with a Masters Degree in Education, and background in classroom teaching, private tutoring, and homeschooling. After spending the past decade researching and monitoring the impact of trends in American K12 education on behalf of her family, she realized other parents needed to learn more about education before they could effectively advocate for their children.

So over the past three years, she has poured her knowledge, passion and experience into producing video, audio, and written content to educate parents about how and why schools are failing their children, as well as what they can do about and in spite of it.

Deb believes parents have more power than they realize to improve their children’s education, they just need the right information and community support. To provide both, she has built two platforms: The Reason We Learn, where parents can access her library of content, education news, and curated “unwoke” education resources, and The Reason We Parent, a private, twice-weekly support group where parents connect, discuss challenges, and receive guidance they can use right now to help their kids get the best possible education.

Additionally, through her website, Deb offers individual parent coaching, college counseling, tutoring for students in grades 5-12, customized homeschooling courses in English, Writing, History, Civics, and Logic, and custom webinars for parent groups, school boards, and candidates for public office.
