Local Candidate Questionnaire

Thank you for your interest in an endorsement or recommendation from your local Moms for Liberty chapter! This form is for those candidates seeking local office as either a school board member or Superintendent. We do not endorse in other races. Please ensure that you complete all sections of the form, as incomplete submissions may not be considered.

An endorsement from a Moms for Liberty chapter has demonstrated the potential to increase turnout in a school board race by more than 10%. An endorsement includes:

  • Promotion and support from the members of your local Chapter. (For specifics, please speak with your local Chapter Chair.)
  • Listing on our national website (approximately 2 weeks prior to the election).
  • Potential for support from our PAC (this is not guaranteed, and PAC activity does NOT permit coordination with the candidate) and/or affiliated organizations.

Candidates should be aware that they bear the ultimate responsibility for their electoral success or failure. While Moms for Liberty aims to empower candidates, success in a school board race relies on building coalitions, recruiting and managing volunteers, fundraising effectively, crafting impactful messaging, and putting in dedicated effort. If you need help in these areas, the Moms for Liberty Campaign Kit is an excellent resource.

The Process

If you have a Chapter in your area:

After submitting this form, your local Chapter will review your responses. If interested, they will reach out for an interview, which may be conducted by phone, video, or in person. Following a successful interview, the Chapter membership must vote to recommend the candidate for endorsement.

If there is no Chapter in your area:

Moms for Liberty does not endorse in areas where a chapter has not been established. We appreciate your interest in seeking an endorsement and commend you for taking on the task of running for your local school board.

Please consider signing the Parent Pledge. Although this is not an endorsement, the Parent Pledge is a simple way to demonstrate your dedication to parental rights.

Recommendations are a way for our Chapter members to support a candidate in an area hostile to parental rights. We do not list recommended candidates on our website. They are often supported by volunteer efforts from members, though this is not guaranteed. Recommended candidates are not currently eligible for support from our PAC. Please indicate if you are interested in a public endorsement or simply a recommendation using the form.

Moms for Liberty only endorses candidates that agree with the stance statements shared on the Candidates page and who commit to taking our Parent Pledge, which states: I pledge to honor the fundamental rights of parents including but not limited to the right to direct the education, medical care, and moral upbringing of their children. I pledge to advance policies that strengthen parental involvement and decision-making, increase transparency, defend against government overreach, and secure parental rights at all levels of government.

If you have not read the stance statements, please visit https://portal.momsforliberty.org/candidates/ prior to continuing this questionnaire.

To fulfill my oath of office to support the Constitution, I must know the Constitution. I commit to reading the US Constitution annually while in office and will study the sections of my state constitution, county charter, and/or local statutes that grant me authority in the position I am seeking.
