It’s been a successful few weeks in our Moms for Liberty Bay County and April is even more exciting....
On March 23rd, we had our Tea Party and a wonderful time enjoying each others company and made $290. We also had a $400 gift basket raffle and Sonja Seidler won the basket with 4 hours of professional organizing, wine, and chocolates.
Last Monday we had our April Monthly Meeting with guest speaker Paula Wilson from Reading Pals. A non profit working which encourages Preschoolers to be read to by mentors. She is currently looking for volunteers to read to the 4 and 5 year olds. If you are interested, you can apply here. https://volunteer.unitedwaynwfl.org/need/detail/?need_id=836601
Karen Custer is heading up our book challenges for the BDS and has sent in one book with the new form. Susan Tierney, Director of Media Services (libraries) sent back a replying saying that the new process for book challenges says that we would need to speak to each principal to have the books removed. However, this is opposite of the guidance given by the board and Mr. Harrison, BDS attorney, during the March 26th board meeting. I have sent a letter to the board, Mr. McQueen and Mr. Harrison asking for clarification and guidance to their staff. I encourage you to join us at the BDS Tuesday, April 9th 1pm Board Meeting to voice our concerns. Please sign up here and let us know if you can make it.

One other side note. FL Supreme Court has allowed an abortion amendment to be allowed on the November ballot. It wipes away the newly signed 6 week abortion law. It removes parental rights from having parental consent to parental notification of minors. There is an open and undefined interpretation of “health care provider” and “viability”. Check out the picture below. Please spread the word, share this picture, and Vote No on Abortion until Birth.
Remember YOU ARE NEEDED !!! For this meeting to keep the Leftwing LGBT contingent from becoming leadership guiding our student Health committee. Voting is THURSDAY, APRIL 24TH 10am and you are allowed to vote....everyone needs to RSVP!
