Constitutions for your Students!

Deadline to order Constitutions for your schools is July 31!

For Our Volunteers

Are you a proud part of Moms for Liberty who is passionate about engaging middle school students on Constitution Day?
Look no further than The 917 Society!
Our organization is committed to honoring and celebrating Constitution Day in schools across the nation, and we look forward to working again with
Moms for Liberty.
As dedicated volunteers, we know how important it is to provide valuable resources that will make a lasting impact on students. That's why we're excited to have a way for Moms for Liberty members to deliver pocket Constitutions and educational materials to schools in their counties. With your help, we can create an unforgettable celebration on September 17th that will empower young minds and foster a deeper understanding of our system of government.
Last year, thanks to the incredible efforts of Moms for Liberty and other community groups, we successfully handed out pocket Constitutions complimentary to Moms for Liberty to deliver to 8th grade students across the 50 states. This year, we want to extend this program to even more schools. And, whether your county schools are public or private, we want to also provide students with an essential library of
Constitutional resources.
To participate and secure Constitutions for your county schools, simply visit our
convenient Constitution delivery submission page. If you ordered Constitutions from us last year and would like to do the same, mention in the notes section that no changes are needed for pocket Constitutions. However, if you wish to expand or modify your Constitution needs compared to last year, kindly inform us, and we will be more than happy to assist you. Additionally, we are pleased to give you a detailed report that provides estimated schools in your area and an approximate number of 8th graders who might be present. To receive this report, email [email protected].
We're thrilled to have Moms for Liberty volunteers like you on board. So don't wait any longer! Join forces with The 917 Society through Moms for Liberty and help us make a difference for tomorrow. We'll ship the pocket Constitutions in August, giving you plenty of time to coordinate and plan an exceptional Constitution Day celebration in your county’s schools. Together, let's inspire and educate the next generation of citizens, while celebrating our shared love of the Constitution.

State Cancelled the NSBA,

Now Looking at ALA

Read the Article

From the desk of James Lindsay:

According to the article in the Daily Montanan, the Montana Library Commissioner is about to cut ties with the ALA on account of their president being a Communist.

If you would like, coordinate some people to be ready next week with a push against the ALA, including leaving public comments on the website when that time starts.  This work should NOT be done on social media.  Coordinate with people you trust.

Public Meeting Details:

Meeting: Tuesday, July 11, 10am MT

Agenda: 20230630091616_24756.pdf (http://mt.gov)

Motion: To sever relationship with the American Library Association

Zoom: https://mt-gov.zoom.us/j/567883688

  • To provide public comment during the meeting, simply join the above Zoom call, no prior registration needed.  To speak during the hearing raise your hand when the Chair calls for public comment. Plan for short comments, we aren’t sure yet what the time limit will be, probably 2 minutes.

  • If you have Zoom issues, email the secretary [email protected].  Let her know that you are having problems with Zoom.

  • To provide written comment, you must submit via email 48 hours in advance, by 9am on Sunday 9th – by email to Genevieve Lighthiser (staff/admin) [email protected] and copy (state’s chief librarian) Jenny Stapp [email protected] , these will be read by the committee and public record

Focus of comments, “support the motion to leave the ALA”

“I would define liberty to be a power to do as we would be done by.

The definition of liberty to be the power of doing whatever the law

permits, meaning the civil laws, does not seem satisfactory.”
