Hello,

These past few weeks have been interesting. Upcoming elections and the court injunction regarding Title IX changes have left many with questions.

We will continue to send out information regarding Title IX and any new updates as we get them.  But we are very happy to focus this month on school board candidates and learn more about their views on current issues that our WCPSS students face.

Lastly, Julie and I will be going to Moms for Liberty National Summit at the end of August. Summit offers training and resources that we bring back to the chapter. If you can donate to help defray our travel costs, we would greatly appreciate it. You can donate via CashApp ( $M4LWakeNC) or via our Donation Link for the chapter. Just put a note that this is for Summit Expenses.

Title IX Updates

The chapter meeting last week had a lot of great information and great discussion on Title IX.  We all learned more about Title IX, what the rule changes mean, how these rules affect your family and how to protect your family.

There are many resources on Moms for Liberty Title IX Resources page, so check it out. This page includes links to the court rulings, links to other cases regarding Title IX, videos, new articles and more.  Here are a few highlights:

  • Title IX Fact Sheet
  • July 2, 2024 Court Ruling that prohibits implementation of Title IX rule changes in schools that are attended by children of Moms for Liberty members.
  • Title IX FAQ regarding the July 2nd court ruling
  • July 19, 2024 Court Ruling that further clarifies the July 2nd ruling
  • List of Schools filed with the District Court July 26, 2024. WCPSS begins on page 32. Updates lists will be submitted every few weeks to the courts.

These polcies were approved a the July 16 WCPSS board meeting but have not been added to the polciy manual as of this date.

The next work session and board meeting will be Tuesday, August 6. The agendas will be posted for both the work session and the main board meeting a few days before the meeting (usually Friday night). Please refer to the MEETING AGENDA for specifics.

If you would like to SIGN UP FOR PUBLIC COMMENT, sign up on the day of the meeting from 11:30am-4pm (online only).  The link will be on the page when sign up is available.
