For years #wcpss has used the SPLC to smear Moms for Liberty of Wake NC. No more.
A couple of years ago, the Southern Poverty Law Center placed Moms for Liberty Wake County on its so-called “Hate Map.” They labeled us an “antigovernment extremist group.” Why? Because parents like me dared to speak up. We demanded our kids go back to school – IN PERSON We demanded transparency. We challenged sexually explicit materials that are available to CHILDREN. We pushed back against a POLITICALLY DRIVEN curriculum. ALL we wanted was for our children's schools, to focus on ACADEMICS; not political agendas. The SPLC Hate Map was not just an attack against us. It was an attempt to INIMIDATE parents EVERYWHERE. It was an attempt to SILENCE parents. It was an attempt to USURP our parental rights. And unfortunately, the SPLC Hate Map influenced federal, state, and local agencies. Local agencies such as the Wake County School Board. It influenced the media. Media such as the News and Observer. And of course, the local fake teacher’s union, the NCAE, promoted this smear campaign. But a few days ago, the Director of the FBI, Kash Patel, announced that the FBI has officially cut ties with the SPLC. He rejected their “Hate Map” as UNRELIABLE and DEFAMATORY. THAT is a POWERFUL admission … an acknowledgment that the smear campaign against parents was built on politics, NOT TRUTH. This admission matters. For too long, parents were treated by this school system as if we were a THREAT …. to our own children?!? We just wanted to SAFEGUARD our children’s innocence and ensure they received a solid ACADEMIC education. Yet … our COMMON SENSE was TWISTED into “extremism”. The days of portraying parents as a threat to their own children are OVER. So tonight, I want to make this clear: Moms for Liberty Wake County is NOT going ANYWHERE. We will continue to stand for TRUTH. We will continue to stand for PARENTAL RIGHTS. We will continue to EMPOWER others We will continue to insist that OUR schools put ACADEMICS first. We will not be bullied, nor intimidated. We WILL NOT be intimidated. The truth has prevailed. And parents have been vindicated.
