• August 2023 the NC Parents Bill of Rights was passed.  Yet by Sept, WCPSS had not made any effort to comply with the law. It is COMMON SENSE legislation and simply codifies the FUNDAMENTAL rights of parents.
  • The board also ignored Constitution and Citizenship Day. Despite the board's inaction, in honor of Constitution and Citizenship Day, Mom’s for Liberty Wake County distributed 13,000 pocket US Constitutions to middle schools across the county so that 8th graders have the Constitution available to read and study.
  • The average reading proficiencies in Wake County for 3rd through 5th graders was only 60.8%. This means that 4 out of 10, 3rd-5th graders ARE NOT PROFICIENT at reading. Results are similar for students entering middle school.
