I will be on vacation until after Labor Day and so won't be updating posts.  However, I urge you all to check out these podcasts and videos over the next few weeks:

It has belatedly come to my attention that the author of my favorite history textbook, Land of Hope, has written a young reader's addition. Parents and grandparents - familiarize yourself with this incredible textbook (original college-level or young reader's edition) so you can identify the biases, omissions and errors in the history your children are getting.

So you think the NEA is about protecting and education children? The NEA recently scrubbed its 434-page 2025 handbook—likely because it exposes a political agenda that erases Jewish suffering, promotes racial quotas, pushes “educational reparations,” and attacks homeschooling, while ignoring student learning and achievement.  Defending education saved it before it was scrubbed.

Parents - as you send your children off to camp this August, be aware of who the counselors are.  One person let me know that upon return from a reportedly Christian YMCA camp, her 12 year told her the counselor was transgender and the kids were forced into discussions about the issue.  Not exactly the canoeing, horseback riding etc. adventure they expected!

Washington is the third highest “donor state” in the nation - our taxpayers subsidize services for other states at a very high rate. For every dollar our taxpayers provide the federal government, only $.84 finds its way back to Washington. Does Chris Reykdal’s statement make you wonder why WA taxpayers are subsidizing other states when our scores are so low?

"Quite possibly, as a result of Mahmoud, the new legal and financial risks to schools of keeping parents in the dark will usher in an age of curriculum transparency. Districts will not want to be sued for keeping parents too uninformed to exercise their opt-out rights."  Stay tuned for more information.

Linda McMahon in response to the SCOTUS ruling: "The U.S. Department of Education will now deliver on its mandate to restore excellence in American education. We will carry out the reduction in force to promote efficiency and accountability and to ensure resources are directed where they matter most – to students, parents, and teachers. As we return education to the states, this Administration will continue to perform all statutory duties while empowering families and teachers by reducing education bureaucracy.”

Washington Parents Network has been doing outstanding work to protect children and families, exposing the lies of Chris Reykdal and Bob Ferguson as well as filing a series of civil rights complaints.  In order to spread the word to independent voters, they are now offering an online series of classes to teach people how to build community news websites.  To find out more, check out their website or join their weekly online meetings on Sundays at 4 pm.

At this week's annual conference, the NEA worked tirelessly to "improve education" by severing ties with the Anti-Defamation League and passing a resolution to defend our "democracy" from President Trump's facism (sic).  If they can't even spell it, how could they ever recognize it?  Still wondering why American children can't read or write?

A Northshore parent just shared this story: The mother of a girl at Kenmore Junior High, removed her daughter from the school due to the situation with the girls’ bathroom.  The daughter was anxious, uncomfortable, and not willing to go into the girl’s bathroom because it is no longer a GIRL’S bathroom, but a TRANSGENDER BATHROOM with high stall doors so no one can see in (i.e.. how many people are in each stall.)  The daughter said people were going in there to make out, etc.  And, of course, transgender boys can now go in there - and maybe any boy who chooses to???  Adults, it is time to get a backbone and stand up for our girls!

Since winning the NCAA women's 500 freestyle, Lia Thomas has become the face of men beating women in women's sports  no longer.  An investigation found UPenn violated Title IX.  They will remove Lia's name from titles and records and will apologize to all the women whose rights were violated.  Thank you Riley Gaines for your courage and persistence.
