Tom Neumark is a software engineer by training and works at one of the largest technology companies in the world. He started the Frederick Classical Charter School, currently ranked by U.S. News & World Report as the #4 charter middle school and #1 charter elementary school in Maryland. He has trained Maryland teachers in computer science instruction. Tom has written for the Maryland Public Policy Institute, Education Week, and the Frederick News Post. In 2019, he was a top 10 national finalist for the bipartisan Moonshot for Kids contest and his winning entry focused on scientifically-based reading instruction. He is currently working with Transparency in Education and coordinating with groups across Maryland to promote scientifically-based approaches to school issues and parental rights.
