Featured Speaker: Marc Schifanelli

Marc Schifanelli is a current Queen Anne's County Board of Education Member and will speak about his experience as a Board member. Marc is a lawyer, an author, former U.S. Army Special Forces Operator, and counterinsurgency expert trained in psychologial operations. As a civilian he worked as a contract intelligence officer in Kosovo in the late 90's. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Maryland College Park and has earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland School of Law. He recently authored a book, Freedom, Emotion and Fascism.

Marc is married to Gordana Schifanelli, who is the Republican Candidate for Lt. Governor in Maryland.

Marc will be speaking about his role on the BOE and how parents can promote change in their schools

The Nazareth Area School District has a general board meeting scheduled for Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 7:00pm.

• General board meetings are where the school board members, superintendent, assistant superintendent and school administrators meet.
• The board members review, discuss and vote on board resolutions.
• The public has two opportunities to speak during these committee meetings: during public comments on meeting agenda items and during community corner.
• Meetings are in person with a Zoom option. 
• A recording of the meeting is posted within a few days after the meeting. To find a recording, go to the meeting Agenda, open the Agenda, on the left side menu scroll all the way to the bottom and click on the video recording section. If the link has been uploaded it will appear.

• Attend the board meeting in person
• Read the agenda ahead of time to understand what the board will discuss
• Sign up to speak at the meeting either on a board agenda related topic or during community corner

We hope you can join us on October 26 on the USS Yorktown!  The meeting will take place in the air conditioned theater.  We will provide golf cart transportation to the ship from the parking lot if needed.  The cost is only $10 per person to help us cover some of the costs (check, cash, PayPal, or Venmo accepted at registration).

Please join us for a chapter membership meeting on 10/25/22 from 6pm to 8pm. We will meet at a Raleigh restaurant with food available for purchase. Children are welcome, although some topics may be sensitive. Seating is limited, please submit your reservation as soon as possible. The meeting location will be shared upon confirmation of chapter membership.

We will discuss chapter business, current WCPSS updates, and the upcoming school board elections.
