What happens when school board seats sit empty - and why should we care?
Join the conversation on school board vacancies, the future of public education, how community involvement makes a real difference.
Superintendent Shelli Boggs is a proven conservative leader with more than two decades of
experience in Arizona education. A former athlete inducted into the Mesa High School Hall of
Fame for softball, she has been a strong advocate for protecting girls’ sports and preserving fair,
equal opportunities for female athletes.
She was elected as the Maricopa County School Superintendent last November and became the
highest vote getter in the history of the office. Shelli oversees school board elections, school
finance, school board appointments, and the Maricopa County Regional School District, which
includes the Hope Accommodation High School for at risk students and the Durango Detention
Center, where she oversees education for youth under eighteen. She is appointing strong school
board members who put kids first, prioritize student safety, and support rigorous academics.
Shelli is focused on restoring excellence in education by empowering parents, supporting
teachers, demanding fiscal responsibility, and getting politics out of the classroom. She will
always stand up for strong athletics programs and will always fight to protect girls’ sports in
Arizona.
