DOJ ‘hate crime’ unit targets Moms for Liberty
Internal emails obtained by the Daily Wire show a “hate crimes” division of Biden’s U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) tracked the parental rights group Moms for Liberty.
The tracking appears to be part of a broader strategy to intimidate parents who speak out against far-left school policies.
The DOJ’s Community Relations Service (CRS) also tracked the “noose, the Confederate flag…the swastika… . the Ku Klux Klan, a second KKK-style group, and the Oath Keepers,” alongside the moms group, said the Daily Wire.
The emails were produced in response to a lawsuit brought by America First Legal on behalf of the Daily Wire.
The media company was seeking information from the DOJ’s CRS via a Freedom of Information Request (FOIA), which was initially ignored by the Justice Department.
The CRS attempted to intervene between left-wing LGTBQ activists and the Roanoke County School Board in Virginia over implementation of statewide policy created by Gov. Glenn Younkin securing parental rights for gender confused children, prompting the FOIA request by the Daily Wire.
“It was eye-opening to see the Department of Justice try and interfere with a local Virginia school board’s decision-making on Governor Youngkin’s model policy…. It is even more concerning that the Department of Justice has refused to even acknowledge a Freedom of Information Act request which seeks to get to the bottom of their decision,” said Ian Prior, a senior adviser for America First Legal about the suit.
