Graffiti appears before Congresswoman's visitA vulgar and threatening message was spray-painted on the side of a Huntsville venue set to host U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and other conservative groups on Saturday.

Greene is scheduled to speak on Saturday at the Moms for Liberty — Madison County's annual dinner at The Brewer's Cooperative at Stovehouse.

The graffiti read, “F*** MTG and M4L. Shoot those crackers.”

Moms for Liberty Madison County chair Emily Jones told 1819 News on Friday afternoon the grafitti had already been taken down ahead of tomorrow's event.

“Nothing has changed on our end. We’re still moving ahead with all plans. We have a full, packed house planned for tomorrow. Just really excited about it. We’ve clearly increased security as a result of it. We already had some really strong protocols in place. We’ve just kind of strengthened them a little bit. No plans to cancel, reschedule, or any of that. We’re moving forward full steam ahead,” Jones said.

A spokesperson for the Huntsville Police Department told 1819 News, “The Huntsville Police Department is investigating a case of vandalism involving vulgar and offensive graffiti discovered at Stovehouse on Friday, June 27.”

“This incident goes beyond simple property damage—it's a calculated act intended to provoke and offend, and it has no place in our community. HPD takes these matters seriously and is actively working to identify those responsible and hold them accountable. Anyone with information is urged to contact HPD at 256-427-7114 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 256-53-CRIME,” the spokesperson said.

Alabama Republican Party (ALGOP) chairman John Wahl said in a statement on Friday, “This kind of hate-filled rhetoric is both disgusting and deeply troubling. It has no place in a society that stands for the values of freedom, civility, and respect. When someone vandalizes a venue with a message calling for people to be shot simply because of their beliefs, that’s not a protest—it’s political terrorism. This latest act of vandalism is just one of many threats aimed at this event."

"What makes this even more outrageous is that the attacks are not just targeting the event organizers, but also an African American business owner—Chris Horn—who is simply trying to provide a space for open dialogue and free expression," Wahl said. Chris is a good man, running an honest business, and he should never be subjected to threats or violence for allowing a conservative event in his venue. Targeting a person's business for their political views is economic terrorism, plain and simple. These attacks aimed at Marjorie Taylor Greene, Moms for Liberty, and the event venue are not peaceful protests. They are intimidation—and they are clear attempts to silence free speech and bully conservatives into submission. The radical left tries to portray Republicans as the extremists, but actions like this expose who the real radicals are. We are quickly reaching a point where Republican organizations are struggling to find safe spaces to meet in their own communities. That should alarm every citizen who cares about free speech. Open debate is a cornerstone of the American way of life, and no one—Democrat or Republican—should be threatened for exercising that right.”
