A conservative Lake County group is calling for an “activist” teacher at a middle school in Buffalo Grove to be fired over her social media comments about the Charlie Kirk assassination.

Moms for Liberty Lake County, which says it is “dedicated to the survival of America by unifying, educating and empowering parents to defend their parental rights at all levels of government,” called for the termination of Carolyn Heyman Pinta.

Pinta is employed as a teacher at Twin Groves Middle School in Buffalo Grove in Kildeer Countryside School District 96.

She is also the director of The Pinta Pride Project and BG Pride, which is her family’s non-profit organization that has organized pride parades in Buffalo Grove.

Pinta describes herself as a “teacher, mother and activist” who is known for her “ability to get the job done when it comes to making good trouble.”The group said they have heard from many parents complaining about Pinta, who the group said made reference to Nazis while responding to Charlie Kirk’s death on social media.Pinta’s comments came shortly after Kirk was fatally shot at a Utah Valley University campus during an event where he was speaking.

“I DESPISE Charlie Kirk and all he stands for, BUT I believe he has the right to live. It’s the guns…” she said in a public Facebook post on her personal profile.

“There will never be a shortage of Charlie Kirk’s. I have nightmares about 1000’s of young people showing up to listen to him,” one commenter said.

Pinta replied to the commenter by saying, “Yes, like the young men in uniforms at a rally in the 30’s.”

Another commenter on Pinta’s post said, “I agree. But all I hear myself saying is karma’s a b–ch.”

Pinta replied and said, “Listen, the irony is THICK, right? All of Charlie’s quotes floating around because one thing they are saying is true. He did have a massive influence over young people. He believed in the sacrificing of a few souls each year to keep his 2A rights.”

Moms for Liberty of Lake County also took aim at Pinta for “affirming” students at school and “working on activist projects” during the school day.

The group called for Pinta’s termination from the school and called on the community to contact the principal, superintendent and school board.

Community members spoke during a District 96 board meeting on Tuesday evening, with some supporting Pinta and arguing it was her First Amendment right while others condemned her for comparing people who support Kirk to Nazis.

The meeting was packed with people lined wall to wall. Some brought signs and flags in support of Pinta.
