Moms for Liberty, Keystone Town Hall, and the Conservative Voice are leading a full-court press to convince Pennsylvania House Majority Leader Matt Bradford to allow bills to protect girls’ sports to come to a vote by the full House.

Moms for Liberty is seeking signatures on an online petition to push Bradford (D-Montgomery) to bring the bills to the floor.

“In my opinion, Matt Bradford appears to be blocking these bills because he knows they would pass with bipartisan support if they ever saw daylight,” said Ada Nestor, co-host of the Conservative Voice and a contributor to Broad + Liberty. “He is protecting an ideological fringe at the expense of every girl in Pennsylvania who plays sports. Leadership sets the agenda, and he is using that power to bury legislation the public overwhelmingly supports. Voters deserve to see where their representatives stand, not have one man decide the outcome in a backroom.

The state Senate approved a bill to keep biological males out of girls’ and women’s sports in May, but it’s been stalled in the Democratic-controlled House. Many believe that males have a physical advantage over females in sports and that they have an unfair advantage.

Recently, the University of Pennsylvania reversed course to comply with Trump’s Title IX EOs, undoing recent victories for biological males who competed in women’s sports.

Montgomery County Moms for Liberty Chair Debbie McGinley said on Facebook, “Please make this make sense. Shapiro and Matt Bradford will not (support) a bill to keep men out of women’s sports and bathrooms. They are unlawfully going against (President Trump’s) executive orders.”

She noted that the legislature passed and Gov. Josh Shapiro recently signed a bill to prevent discrimination against people’s hairstyles.

“What about our young women? How are we protecting them?

McGinley, of Worcester, added later, “It’s outrageous as a mother. Hair is more important than our females and sports? Ludicrous.”

McGinley, a former Methacton School Board candidate and a hairdresser, said the House needs to act on these bills (SB9, HB1849, HB158) to protect girls’ sports, rather than leaving the matter to individual school boards.

“It’s not going to go away,” said McGinley. “I’m not going to go away.”

Writing in Broad + Liberty, Nicole Prussman, an educational advocate and the Moms for Liberty PA legislative chair, noted that 80 percent of Pennsylvanians approve of bills to keep girls’ sports for girls.

Bucks County mother Jamie Walker agrees.

“It doesn’t shock me at all that Democrat Leader Bradford perpetually keeps bills to protect girls’ sports locked up in committee. Democratic state representatives will never vote to protect girls’ sports for two reasons: They do not care about what is best for girls, and they are cowards. Leader Bradford doesn’t want Pennsylvania voters to see the truth about his fellow Democratic representatives.”
