Decline in IREAD

All Hamilton County school districts have seen a decline in 3rd grade IREAD proficiency, Carmel Clay Schools has the most dramatic decline from 2016 to 2022.

The State of Indiana has seen a significant decline in 3rd grade IREAD proficiency dropping 7.3 points from 88.9% in 2016 to 81.6% in 2022.

IDOE is directing millions of dollars to reading programs with a statewide goal of 95% reading proficiency by 2027. As of today, there is not one Hamilton County school district achieving this level of reading proficiency.
