Campus Briefing LIVESTREAM: Be Involved, Get Engaged

Virtual
National

Description

Are you ready to move from concerned to confident when it comes to your child’s education? In this empowering Campus Briefing LIVESTREAM, join Missy Karwowski as she talks with Moms for Liberty chapter leaders about how everyday parents are stepping up, getting involved, and making a real impact in their schools. From volunteering in classrooms to navigating school board meetings and district policies, this panel will explore what it means to be both involved and engaged—and how you can do it too.

You’ll hear real stories from parents who’ve faced challenges like concussion policy failures, curriculum concerns, and communication breakdowns—and turned those moments into action. Whether you're a stay-at-home parent, working full-time, or juggling multiple school systems, this conversation will give you practical steps and encouragement to get started.

📣 Don’t miss your chance to be part of the movement. RSVP now and submit your questions to [email protected]

David Warner is a devoted husband and father of two who moved from Central Illinois to South
Carolina nearly a decade ago. Trading cornfields for the coast, David quickly discovered that the
biggest fight wasn’t over location but over education. When his son with autism was denied the
services he needed to thrive, David stepped up and challenged the system. His relentless advocacy
didn’t just help his own son; it opened doors for countless others.

Through this journey, David uncovered deeper problems within his school district, including
hundreds of sexually explicit books in libraries and a so-called “culturally relevant” reading program
that prioritized race over academic need. Refusing to back down, he became a force to be reckoned
with, fighting for transparency in education.

Today, David continues to champion parental rights, serves in his son’s special needs baseball
league, and stands firmly for every child’s right to a safe and quality education.

Becky Lew-Hobbs’s family moved to Wake County when she was a child after her father retired from the military. A graduate of Wake County Public Schools, Becky went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from NC State University. She now lives in Raleigh, with her husband and their three children.

When Becky’s children entered the public school system, she became a member of the PTA and school volunteer. But she realized that things were not the same as she saw that schools no longer focused on academics, but an agenda-driven instruction. When the pandemic shut down schools, she became outspoken against school closures, mask mandates and other policies.

Through this, Becky quickly connected with other like-minded parents and became a founding member of Moms for Liberty in Wake County in 2021. Becky now serves as the chapter’s chair and is a member of the Moms for Liberty North Carolina Legislative Committee.  Moms for Liberty and its members were instrumental in advocating for the passage of the Parent’s Bill of Rights Act, Save Women’s’ Sports Act, Prevent Sexual Exploitation of Women and Minors Act and more.
